According to Entertainment Earth, Attacktix "is easy to play, but difficult to master, with all of the complexity of a trading card game." Well, hopefully when you're done at this site, you'll find that learning to Master Attacktix is easier than they think!

I'm sure this update isn't worth waiting over nine months for, but I'm still ahead of Hasbro. It's got to be some testament to my love for Attacktix that I went ahead and decided to renew my contract with GoDaddy for another year... I honestly don't know when I'll post another game related article, but I did want to share two thoughts about the game that have been on my mind lately: how Attacktix is like Lost and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was a great movie. It more than made up for the train wreck that was Temple of Doom. As time passed and no more Indy movies emerged, it seemed like a fitting end for the series. Occassionally I would hear a rumor of a new installment around the corner, but the longer time went the more I became convinced that it would never happen. Any time someone told me it was coming, I would firmly deny any chance of it. Well lo and behold, a new Indiana Jones movie finally came into being! While I was disappointed in the movie overall, I was pleasantly surprised to be have been proven wrong. I feel the same way about Attacktix. The official words have been "hiatus" and "relaunch" for some time, and all I can say is... I'll believe it when I see it. And I'll be thrilled to have been wrong all this time.

This brings me to my second thought about Attacktix, which is how it's like the hit tv show Lost. I've been a big fan of Lost ever since I discovered it - the summer before the second season began. As all Lost fans know, there have been lots of problems with the timing of the show, long breaks, and so on. At this point in the series, I understand exactly how to be a fan of Lost: enjoy the show when it's on, then tune it completely out of your mind until it starts back up again... whenever that is. The Attacktix hiatus has been long and drawn out and the game is almost completely out of my mind. But when (if?) it comes back, I'll be the first one back in the pool - jumping into the deep end screaming, "CANNONBALL!"

Thanks to Ionic Design for pointing out this update from Brian Wilk which has inspired a new glimmer of hope.

Today I finished the follow up article to Eating Your Own, which is called Tix Bowling. In the process I also created a new figure rating entitled Big Guns. If you want to suggest a figure for the Big Guns category, please let me know via the Leave a Comment section.

  Tuesday, November 6, 2007, 8:59am
There are several strategy articles that I've intended to write for quite some time, and I'm finally getting some time invested in them. The first one is called Eating Your Own. A second very closely related topic is that of Tix Bowling, which is on its way soon. Enjoy!

  Sunday, October 28, 2007, 2:21pm
We've got some new guys playing here in town and that's reignited interest in the game for the rest of us. You can safely consider the unofficial Master Attacktix hiatus to be over! I've intended to add a team building article for quite some time, but have just now finally gotten around to finishing it. Since it's been a while since I've played competitively, it might need some tweaking. Read the article here then use the Leave a Comment area to help me correct any errors.

  Thursday, August 16, 2007, 12:02pm
It's been far too long in me getting this posted, and I'd like to make a public apology to Ataru and Ionic Design. But here is the long awaited A Tix in Time #10.

  Friday, August 3, 2007, 4:22pm
I promised something new before the end of the week, so here it is. Since we won't be seeing any new figures from Hasbro for a while, I decided to create some of my own. I've done my best to try and make these figures fun and playable but not overpowered. Please try them out and let me know what you think!

Master Attacktix Expansion Sets will be located in the Reviews section of the site, as the menu bar is getting full and I don't know where else to put them.

  Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 9:18pm
So for the first time in quite a while, I've got some excitement for Attacktix again. If you haven't already heard, Brian Wilk (the creator of Attacktix) was interviewed at the San Diego Comicbook Convention recently and finally gave some official words about Attacktix. Thanks to Radar, you can view the interview here. The best news was that Attacktix is not finished, but will be on hold for a while as Hasbro tries to figure out the best way to market the game. Since it's likely going to be a while until we get anything new, I have some plans to help fill the void - I'll unveil those before the end of the week.

Upcoming will also be our long overdue take on the Marvel and Transformer prototypes we picked up on ebay, as well as a striking tutorial that will explain why I greatly prefer traditional Strikers over uppercut or downward smashing ones.

And lastly, here is A Tix in Time #9.

  Friday, July 13, 2007, 12:46pm
I'm heading out of town until next Tuesday, so there's no relief for those of you unhappy about us having no new reviews. Given the major lull in the Attacktix world, next week I want to start a new part of the website. Right now it's really the only thing I find interesting about the game, and it will involve taking figures that aren't very good and changing their stats so they're worth playing with.

Ataru has been hard at work on some new stuff for his comic, so today I'm going to give you two that have been waiting for a while to be revealed so we can move on to some of his newer stuff. Here's A Tix In Time numbers 7 and 8.

  Thursday, July 5, 2007, 10:31pm
Today I received my batch of Marvel prototypes, and Michael got his Transformers ones as well. Later we'll post some more detailed information about them, but here's a quick shot to show you what we'll have to talk about. Michael has begun work on the Invisible Woman custom, and he also has another one in the works. I think we'll wait to reveal those until they're finished products.

  Tuesday, July 3, 2007, 10:02pm
I want to take a moment to answer some of the questions about updates, the future of Attacktix and the like. It does take a bit of effort to write up figure reviews and strategy articles, but that's not really what's been the hold-up. Honestly I've just not been very excited about Attacktix lately. I personally have no idea where Star Wars 5 and Transformers 2 are, and it's led to a lot of speculation, some of it very pessimistic. And that in turn has left me almost completely uninterested in these little plastic figures. But until we hear something official, I guess we should continue to hope that they're just around the corner.

I told you a while back that we won some Marvel Series 2 prototypes from ebay, and Michael's arrived today. (Even though we won them on the same day and only live seven blocks from each other, somehow I have not yet received mine.) We're heading out of town tomorrow for some festivities, but Thursday we'll be sure to show you what we've got. Nothing like holding Iron Man in your hand to get the Attacktix fires burning again!

On a related note, Michael and I were able to catch the Transformer's movie this afternoon. I won't give anything away, I'll just tell you it was an absolutely outstanding movie! The best movie I've seen in the theater since the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Lastly, I want to give you my current favorite in Ataru's A Tix in Time. Not only is it funny, but it also captures how almost all of us are feeling right now about Attacktix.

  Saturday, June 23, 2007, 10:19pm
I don't have any reviews to add today, but I do want to add another in Ataru's excellent line of A Tix in Time.

I did manage to get out and see the new Fantastic Four movie yesterday, and I really enjoyed it. I'm sure critics will find plenty of things to complain about, but the Surfer was awesome and the movie was a lot of fun. I'm in the very early stages of making customs of Silver Surfer and Invisible Woman. My intention is to make fully playable figures - if I get them done, I'll be sure to share them with you all!

  Thursday, June 21, 2007, 8:40am
So it's much less novel this time around, but here's another morning update. A Skyblast Robot review was requested, but you can hardly do one without the other! So here are some thoughts on both Skyblasts, Robot and Jet.

I just finished my most recent grad class, so there will definitely be some more time for Attacktix. Very soon I hope to have all of the Marvel Series 1 reviews done, along with the main figures from Transformers Series 1. Michael and I have been talking about Star Wars and will be going back and doing some Series 1 and 2 stuff. Yesterday Michael and I collectively picked up nine Marvel Series 2 prototypes off of ebay, so we'll be sharing those with you as soon as they arrive!

  Tuesday, June 19, 2007, 8:38am
Perhaps for the first time in our fairly short history, today we're going to bring you a morning review. I'll try not to break my arm as I pat myself on the back.

Even as we work to finish off the Marvel line, we've got some old-school stuff coming your way. Today we give you Michael's take on the greatest Jedi Master ever - Yoda. And since it's been almost a week, we're due to present issue #4 of Ataru's A Tix In Time.

On a smaller note, I finally got to watch the Ghost Rider movie and I absolutely loved it! There was a lot of talk against Nicholas Cage, but I thought he did a good job. And watching Ghost Rider cruise around on his bike, throw down with his chain, and finally whip out the penance stare was ridiculously cool. To that end, I went ahead and updated the intros to each of the Ghost Rider figures I'd previously reviewed.

  Wednesday, June 13, 2007, 7:13pm
It's been a while coming, but we finally got him done. Michael has put together a review of the man himself - Captain America. And with him, we're one step closer to having every Marvel figure reviewed. And for those of you that are interested, we will get back to Star Wars and Transformers figures soon.

Today I'm also glad to bring you the third installment of Ataru's A Tix In Time. Keep up the good work, Ataru!

  Sunday, June 10, 2007, 11:34pm
Several months ago I ordered a Ghost Rider Mega Pack online just so I could get my hands on one and write a review. If you're thinking about buying one, I'd encourage you to save your money and read my thoughts on Ghost Rider on Cycle and Wallow instead.

That wraps up all the promised Ghost Rider reviews, and just in time for the DVD release on Tuesday! Perhaps this week we'll be able to finish up the rest of the Marvel figures and then go back and hit some Star Wars and Transformers highlights that we've yet to do.

  Saturday, June 9, 2007, 10:05pm
Well, usually folks try and save the best for last. But since I was following the Ghost Rider Starter Set figures in numerical order, nothing could be further from the truth. In different circumstances, I probably wouldn't even review a figure like Abigor, but here he is nonetheless.

Since I feel like I'd be cheating you all if that's all I had for an update today, I'd like to give you something to make it up - Issue #2 in Ataru's A Tix in Time.

  Friday, June 8, 2007, 11:49pm
Ah, nothing like squeaking in at the last minute! Some time commitments tonight took longer than I expected, but I was still able to get home in time to write up some thoughts on Blackheart.

  Thursday, June 7, 2007, 11:16pm
I'm sure there were some doubters out there, thinking there was no way I'd actually get reviews posted on back-to-back days. But lo and behold, here's the next figure from the Ghost Rider Starter Set - the Spirit of Vengeance himself - Ghost Rider. I'll go ahead and put the pressure on myself and let you know that I'm going to bring you at least one review a day until this group is done.

  Wednesday, June 6, 2007, 10:12pm
Over the next several days I'm going to bring you reviews of the Ghost Rider Starter Set as well as the Ghost Rider Mega Pack. To kick things off, here's a review of Western Ghost Rider.

We're also going to be bringing you a new feature here at Master Attacktix. Ataru from the Attacktix Forum has been creating some Attacktix cartoons entitled A Tix In Time. They're very clever and well drawn, I hope you enjoy them! You can view the first one here.

  Thursday, May 31, 2007, 4:32pm
We have taken a bit of a hiatus around here lately, but things have been busy! We'll try to make it up to you all by bringing you the trifecta today: two figure reviews and a new strategy article.

Today Michael's bringing you his take on M-09 Wolverine, Jedi Knight, and also introduces his first strategy article: Striking: Defending the Multi-Kill. Enjoy!

  Saturday, May 19, 2007, 12:37pm
Yesterday was Michael's birthday, so today it's fitting to bring you one of his favorite figures - one that went a long way in helping him win the Transformers' Title at TixCon '07. It's none other than the Truck version of Super Optimus Prime.

  Tuesday, May 15, 2007, 9:17pm
The early afternoon update is the next Bounty Hunter review to roll off the assembly line - IG-88. The evening update is of the Transformers' variety - Michael's take on Battle Ravage.

  Monday, May 14, 2007, 9:26pm
Let the Bounty Hunter reviews begin! There's only one guy who can start this group off - the coolest Bounty Hunter in the entire Star Wars galaxy... my favorite Star Wars character as a kid... the guy whose adult-sized helmet is sitting in my garage... Boba Fett!

  Friday, May 11, 2007, 9:00pm
I've got some of my Bounty Hunter reviews done, but I'm going to save those for another day. Today I want to give you all a new addition to the Getting Started section of the site.

Here is another video addition to Master Attacktix, which gives an explanation and demonstration of How to Play Attacktix.

  Sunday, May 06, 2007, 3:57pm
In the past, going a whole week without any updates wouldn't have been long at all. But now that I've got Kevin and Michael feeding me figure reviews, I've got to get moving! I have six more reviews of theirs that will be posted soon, and I still have several strategy articles in the works. On top of that I also want to add some new info to the Getting Started area that will try and provide more help to those new to the game.

Here is Kevin's take on M-01 Spider-Man. Expect several more updates this week, hopefully we'll be able to finish some more of the reviews that have already been requested. I personally am eager to write up reviews for all of the current Bounty Hunters as we anticipate Star Wars Series 5!

  Sunday, April 29, 2007, 10:26pm
Some of you have waited very patiently for the new web tossing Spider-Man, and now it's finally here. The last review of the new Marvel Series 2 Starter Set figure is done, and you can read what Kevin had to say here.

Tomorrow is a great day for me, I'll see if Michael and I can't make it at least a good day for the rest of you with some new updates to the site. I said if this time, because sometimes things come up and I don't end up getting the updates done that I said I would. Hopefully tomorrow will be different! And thanks again for all of the positive feedback, it's great to hear from all of you!!

  Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 9:54pm
Tonight we bring you two more of Kevin's reviews of the new figures from the Marvel Series 2 Starter Set: MV2-20 Doctor Octopus and MV2-22 Thing. Both of these are sculpts we've seen before, but this time around they're definitely better. The new web tossing Spidey is on the way soon!

  Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 10:10pm
First of all, here's Michael's final review of the new Transformers Series Two Starter Set: Landquake. Thanks a lot to Michael for putting those together, and thanks to Webhead for having those figures as the prize at TixCon!

It's been quite a while since I've written a strategy article, so I wanted to start you off with something good. Drew pulled this tactic on me and I thought it was brilliant, I hope you do too. I'm calling it: Stop! We've Got You Surrounded!

  Monday, April 23, 2007, 10:01pm
Another day, another figure review! Today we're bringing you Michael's third review from the new Transformers Series Two Starter Set: Skywarp. Tomorrow will see more figure reviews as well as the first in a new set of strategy articles.

  Sunday, April 22, 2007, 5:26pm
It's been a good day today and I was able to get the two Hulk reviews loaded up for you all. Since it's going to be a much less hectic week, I'm going to attempt to have daily updates leading up to one of the best days of the year - April 30. As we take more of a team approach to the site, I'm going to stop using Attacktix Forum names and start using real names. If you're not sure who everyone is, just click on the Y logo on the bottom of the left menu. Here are Kevin's reviews of M-07 Hulk and MV2-21 Hulk.

  Saturday, April 21, 2007, 9:27pm
I had hoped to get those Hulk reviews in today, but I have family in town for the weekend and the day got away from me. (That means: lots of cleaning!) I'll do my best to get those up tomorrow.

  Friday, April 20, 2007, 9:19pm
Annointed1 and Big Base Mace have both done a great job of getting figure reviews to me, I'll be posting at least one a day until they are all up. And since this was the last week of the semester, I'll have more free time next week to hopefully get some of those new strategy articles posted. Mr. 500 also came up with some very fun game scenarios and we may have to make an area for those as well.

So with that said, here is the Transformer everyone has been waiting for: G1 Optimus Prime. Tomorrow I'll give you Big Base Mace's reviews for both incarnations of a very large, angry, green man. (And for those of you who have posted your requests for reviews, we haven't forgotten about those!)

  Wednesday, April 18, 2007, 12:58pm
I'm rushing to get this update done over my lunch break, so without further ado here's Annointed1's review of 2-20 Megatron.

  Monday, April 16, 2007, 4:37pm
Our group is still on an Attacktix high after TixCon, it may be a while until we all come back down. It was great to see so many different players in action, and it was even better to see some of their strategies. There are several articles I have in the works, and many of those strategies were already on display at TixCon. I will try and get those added as soon as I can. In the meantime, here's a little nugget for you all: complete information for the Transformers 2 Starter Set. Complete reviews of these figures along with the S2 Marvel Starter Set will be posted as soon as Annointed1 and Big Base Mace get them done!

  Friday, April 6, 2007, 10:46pm
Annointed1 and I spent last night and this morning in some serious Tix competition, and I think we've both figured out our 200 point teams for the upcoming TixCon. We also discovered a few more strategic considerations, so now I just have to decide how much I want to divulge before the upcoming weekend!

Big Base Mace was kind enough to let me borrow his Spider-Man 3 Tournament Set, and I was able to finish reviewing all of the figures. Overall I think it's a bit of a reach for $20, but some of that is because we almost never play with Megas. However, there's definitely one amazing figure in that set! I'll let you read more in my reviews: Sandman, Spider-Man, Venom and New Goblin

  Sunday, April 1, 2007, 5:21pm
April Fool's jokes have never really been my thing, so I've got nothing up my sleeve for you all today. But in honor of the upcoming TixCon, I'm developing some new strategy articles that I plan to roll out before April 14. I appreciate all the feedback you guys have been leaving in the Leave a Comment area, and I'd like to open the site up for requests. If there's something you'd like to see, just let me know in the Leave a Comment area. The first fulfilled request is for a close-up look at Thor.

One of my friends recently picked up the Spider-Man 3 Tournament Set, so hopefully I can get some reviews of those figures up soon!

  Monday, March 26, 2007, 11:30pm
So I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is my back is getting better, and hopefully I'll still be able to play in a softball tournament this weekend! The bad news is that I lost my flash drive in New Orleans which had all of my in-progress stuff for the site, so it's back to square one on some of the additions. But not all is lost, I was able to piece back together the review for Beast. Thanks go out to Annointed1 for all of his help, and to Austeeno56 for discovering the beloved Beast Huddle.

  Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 9:33pm
Well what do you know? The first day in New Orleans I managed to pull a muscle in my back and now I've been laying down doing nothing for the past two days! It's been a bit discouraging, but God is good and He's using it to grow me and teach me quite a few things. Since I'm laid up, I decided to go ahead and try to finish up some more figure reviews. Right now I've got Gambit. Beast and Prodder Wolverine are on their way soon!

  Friday, March 16, 2007, 1:10pm
I am heading to New Orleans today for a spring break mission trip and won't be back in town until late Saturday, March 24. I was hoping to get another update in before today but it's been so hectic getting the details squared away that I was unable to do so. We have several reviews and articles that are nearly ready to post, and things will slow down significantly in April, so expect to see a lot more updates after I get back in town.

  Tuesday, March 13, 2007, 11:01pm
Thanks to a lot of help from Annointed1, I was able to finish up reviews for all of the Brotherhood figures. I'll do my best to have all the X-Men reviews up sometime tomorrow night. Here's Pyro, Mystique, Magneto and Sabretooth.

  Saturday, March 3, 2007, 12:04pm
So Friday came and went without an update of any kind, big or small. I apologize for that, I'm a firm believer that when you say you're going to do something you should do it! But I do have a relaxing Saturday ahead of me today, so I'm going to do my best to get some updates and general site cleaning done today.

Since Ataru made the request for some Ewok reviews, here's Wicket and Chief Chirpa. I've also cleaned up the Figure Reviews and added a page for my Figure Rankings. That may be all that I get done for today, although I'm finishing up Logray and working on a comprehensive review of the Avengers team and all their individual figures.

  Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 9:12am
Some of you have commented on the lack of updates recently, and you're absolutely right. Expect several additions this Friday, including a lot of Marvel figure reviews and a pretty specific article on my personal team-building strategy.

  Monday, January 29, 2007, 10:46pm
Well, you know what they say about good intentions... So anyway, I've got a long list of things I want to add to this site, and I'm going to get at least one of them done today. My next set of figure reviews are going to be centered on the Sinister Syndicate. I've already done Electro, so here's Venom, M-15 Doctor Octopus, M-21 Green Goblin, SM-05 Green Goblin and SM-08 Doctor Octopus.

  Friday, January 12, 2007, 12:48pm
So I only managed to make it three days in a row with consecutive figure reviews. I didn't get home from BSU last night until almost midnight, and I'm heading out of town today for an outstanding conference on the Resurrection. It may not be until Sunday that I have anything new to add.

On more of a blogging note, I was finally able to play a competitive game of Marvel Attacktix last night. We had a very good 200 point game between a Marvel Knights team (plus pole-swinging Spidey) and a Sinister Syndicate team that also featured two Sabretooths. In the end the Marvel Knights won, mainly just because of having greater numbers. It became more evident to me that the Marvel group of figures tend to be high-point, sturdy figures, which lessens the effect of your traditional Launchers. The only figures I was able to bring down with my Western Ghost Riders were all the Electro's on the table.

I also got to see a few figures that I don't have in my collection yet: Hulk and Prodder Wolverine. Overall neither of us were very impressed with Hulk. He's very hard to knock down, but we couldn't get his barrel to stop hitting the ground within three or four inches of his throw. As for Wolverine, you definitely have to be very strategic in where he aims, but I really like him. His effect is awesome... just don't have him attack Hulk - I think it might be impossible for Wolverine to knock him down!

  Wednesday, January 10, 2007, 10:58pm
Before I say anything else, let me give a big shout-out to Gideon for the new tidbit of information. You can hop on Attacktix.com, click on Figure Gallery, and then proceed to check out all the figures for Star Wars Series Five and Transformers Series Two. Thanks, Gideon!!

Eventually I'm going to give you some more Transformer and Star Wars reviews, but my wife gave me two more Marvel boosters today and I'm really in a Marvel mood. Today I want to tackle two misunderstood Strikers: Thing and Wolverine.

  Tuesday, January 9, 2007, 10:43pm
Day two, with an hour and 17 minutes to spare. Earlier I gave you a review of Daredevil, so today I want to finish this impressive one-two punch by giving my thoughts on Elektra.

  Monday, January 8, 2007, 10:29pm
The figure review blitz is underway! I plan to bring you at least one figure review every day until I'm finished with all of the Marvel, Transformer, and Star Wars Series 4 figures that I own. Some days that may mean more than one figure, but in honor of Bob Wiley's baby steps, today I'm going to start slow and just give you one: 4-20 Han Solo. In the process you'll also be discovering my new figure rating categories.

  Monday, January 1, 2007, 1:50pm
Happy New Year, I hope everyone has had a great holiday season! On this first day of 2007, I bring you the first half of an impressive Marvel one-two punch: Daredevil.
